The ABTA in Atlanta Again!

Planning for the ABTA 2018 convention in Atlanta, Georgia is underway. Details and Registration Form will be included in the Spring Issue of the Quarterly. We do not have final details and costs worked out quite yet, but it looks like the convention registration fee should not exceed $200. There will be another workshop/seminar this year, probably still on Tuesday night. The topics and presenters have not yet been decided for either the seminar or the convention.

Linda Green is once again our Program Chair, and I’m sure she will work her magic again!

The entertainment decisions are still being worked out as well. However, plan on some sort of a welcome lunch on Tuesday, July 24 with first and second time convention attendees as well as all board members invited. This event is hosted by our President-elect, Henry Meguid, as a way to give the newcomers a chance to meet a few other members in a less structured setting designed to allow for more interaction.

In addition, there will be a Wednesday evening entertainment event. Patty Tucker, our immediate past president and the convention’s hostess will be planning something special which will be an optional event, signed up for and paid in addition to the convention registration fee. I’m sure she’ll find something fantastic for us to do!

It is looking like the Thursday Evening Awards and Pro-Panel Banquet will be held at the host hotel, the Marriott Marquis, however no definite plans are in place at this time. The cost of the banquet is included in the convention registration. We will try to hold the cost for the banquet alone to $110 or less, but again, nothing is decided at this point.
